Agri-Food Immigration Pilot
Agri-food is an immigration pilot launched by Immigration Canada to meet the current labour demand in the agri-food sector, especially workers in meat processing and mushroom growing, and to stimulate the development of related industries. The immigration program is a three-year pilot which will begin in 2020, and a maximum of 2,750 principal applicants will be accepted for processing each year under the pilot. The pilot is focusing on attracting skilled workers in the non-seasonal agricultural and food industries who already have more than one year of full-time experience in Canada.
Requirements
1. Work experience:
12 months of full-time, non-seasonal Canadian work experience in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, in an eligible occupation in processing meat products, raising livestock, or growing mushrooms or greenhouse crops.
2. Language ability: CLB4 or above in English or French
3. Education: high school level or above (Canadian equivalency)
4. Have a job offer for full-time, non-seasonal work in Canada, outside of Quebec, at or above the prevailing wage
